Background:
Monoclonal antibody recognizes the 427 kDa
dystrophin protein.
Dystrophin is a member of the spectrin/a-actinin
family of actin binding, triple helix rod-containing
proteins. It is absent or greatly reduced in
humans with the X-linked recessive Duchenne's
muscular dystrophy disorder and in mice with
murine muscular dystrophy (mdx mutation).
Specificity:
Reacts with dystrophin. Does not cross-react
with C-protein, a-actin, or human muscle
spectrin.

Recognizes dystrophin in human, mouse, rat,
chicken, Xenopus, and Torpedo cells. Other

Immunohistochemistry: (Formalin/paraffin)
Use 2-4 μg/mL for 30 min. at RT. Staining of
formalin/paraffin tissues REQUIRES boiling
tissue sections in 1 mM EDTA, pH 8.0, for 10-
20 min. followed by cooling to room temp. for
20 min. (Note: 1 mM EDTA, pH 8.0 is better
than 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for
unmasking the epitope.)
The optimal dilution for a specific application
should be determined by the researcher.
