Specificity:
This antibody reacts with a 67 kDa molecule
specific for the CD5 antigen. The antigen is
present on the majority of circulating and non
circulating T-cells as well as on the majority of
cortical and medullary thymocytes. The antigen
is also present on a subpopulation of B
lymophocytes. In histology, the antibody stains
lymphoid tissues primarily the mature T-lymphocytes
and a small subpopulation of Blymphocytes.
Antigen Distribution:
Peripheral blood lymphocytes (73 ± 6%); T-cells,
E+ (100%); B-cells, E-,Ig+ (5-15%); monocytes,
CD14+ (<1%); granulocytes (<1%); NK-cells,
CD16+ (<1%); thymocytes (42 ± 9%).
Species Reactivity:
Human. Other species not tested.
Ig Isotype:
Mouse IgG3
Format:
1mL lyophilized antibody solution with 0.1%
sodium azide. Reconstitute with 1mL (sterile)
distilled water.
Storage:
Store at 4°C.
Applications and Suggested Dilutions:
Can be used for:
-Quantitative determination of the total T-cell
population (CD5+) and a small distincted Bcell
subpopulation in blood.
-Identification of CD5+-cells in tissue sections.
-Characterization of leukemias and lymphomas.
-Quantitative elimination or isolation of T-cells by
flow cytometry or magnetic particles.
-Analysis of B-cell subpopulations.
-Modulation of CD5-antigen.
Flow Cytometry
Indirect fluorescence: on frozen sections.
Indirect enzyme staining: on frozen sections.
The optimal dilution for a specific application
should be determined by the researcher. Typical
dilution is 1:10.
